Frequently Asked Questions

I specialize in providing support for PTSD, complex trauma, sexual health concerns, behavioural addictions (gambling, gaming, internet use, pornography, sex), substance use, anxiety and phobias, depression, relationship issues, OCD, and ADHD.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps people heal from trauma and emotional distress. It uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help the brain reprocess stuck or distressing memories.

EMDR helps the brain reprocess and store unresolved memories in a way that they no longer feel emotionally intense. The memory remains, but the overwhelming emotional response connected to it is reduced.

Both formats use the same structured approach and bilateral stimulation techniques. The main difference lies in how the stimulation during trauma processing is delivered - for example, using eye movements, tapping, or audio tones online instead of hand movements in person. The format you choose does not affect the outcome of EMDR therapy.

Deep Brain Reorienting is a trauma-focused therapy that works with the body’s natural, instinctive responses to threat or attachment disruptions. It helps uncover and process the earliest, automatic reactions that occur before conscious thought—such as tightening, flinching, or freezing—allowing the body and brain to release stored tension and emotional pain from past experiences.

DBR helps with trauma by gently guiding you to notice and process the body’s earliest, automatic responses to distress—like tension, startle, or freezing—that often remain stored long after a difficult experience has passed. By working with these deep, instinctive reactions rather than just thoughts or emotions, DBR allows the nervous system to complete what it couldn’t at the time of the trauma. This helps reduce triggers, emotional reactivity, and body-based tension, leading to a greater sense of safety, calm, and integration.
